STAND STRONG!
Those words echoed through the church building during this year’s Vacation Bible School, August 5-9. Each day participants focused on different ways their faith can help them stand strong through the storms of life ... God’s love, friends and family, prayer, trust in God, and the Bible. Twelve students and two youth leaders - from Casa de Fe, Global Ark Baptist, and First Baptist - participated in the program. Thanks to Susan Bowdridge, Rev. Doreen Freeman, Marilyn Glover and Sharon Jacobson for leading the various activities. The students presented two of the songs they learned at our worship service on August 11.

SYMPATHY
... to the family and friends of the Rev. Dr. George H. Tooze Jr., who passed away in Maine on August 3 after a brave battle against cancer. Dr. Tooze was Senior Minister of our congregation from 1977-1983. While in Malden, Dr. Tooze became interested in the life and writings of Emily Chubbuck Judson, wife of Baptist missionary to Burma, Adoniram Judson. This interest led to a deep passion for collecting, transcribing and publishing her letters. Dr. Tooze was able to complete the seven-volume collection before his death. A memorial service will be held in Indianaopolis, IN at a later time.
